Fix Zoom Phone Audio Settings When Nobody Can Hear You Talking

Body

If you can hear others on a Zoom call but nobody can hear you, you could be muted, your Microphone could be on the wrong setting, or it is tied up by another program at the same time you are trying to use it for Zoom. Here are steps to check your Microphone settings:

Verify the mute button is not on for your call or meeting.

You can click on the Microphone dropdown menu to see all devices available and choose the device you want to use. I use a headset with a jack and have Jack Mic selected. Yours may be different.

After you select the device you want, you can click the Test Mic button. The button will change to say recording and you can talk into your Mic. The Input level will fill with a blue bar if the mic is picking up your voice.

The test will stop recording after a few seconds and play back to you what it picked up.

If you are still having the same issue, this is often fixed by restarting your computer. Click Start in the bottom left of your screen, then power, then restart.
